Volunteers are Vital!

Volunteers help to run all of our events.  Thanks to the support of many kind individuals over the years, our events have run successfully and smoothly.  These volunteers have allowed us to grow as an organization.

Some volunteer positions exist for all events;
some are specific to one event.
Thanks in advance for donating your time and effort!

    • Race For Adam Day Packet Pick-Up
      • On the morning of the event, volunteers are needed to pass out race packets. Volunteers should be able to handle questions and a flurry of activity simultaneously.
        Time commitment: Approximately three hours
    • Race Start/Finish Line
      • Volunteers are needed to organize runners and walkers at the Race start and the Walk start as well as for crowd control.  Make sure the runners are where they should be according to their mile times.   Specific instructions will be given on event day.  You will also help the timing service, if need be. If you have motivational skills and can manage well, then this would be a great job for you.

  • Volunteer opportunities for all Events
    • Registration
      • On the morning of the event volunteers are needed to process Race Day, Poker Ride, Golf and Corvettes for Adam registrations. Responsibilities include handling money, bib assignment (Race for Adam), golfing assignments and line management. This is an incredibly important position as the smoothness of the events depend on these volunteers arriving and being on time.
        Time Commitment: Approximately three hours.
    • Refreshments
      • Volunteers are needed to assist in distributing and maintaining participant refreshment (fruit, water) to Race participants. This will include setting up the product prior the event, handing out the product to Race participants and breaking down boxes and cleaning up after the event. Some volunteers will be placed at water stations throughout the walk/run course.
    • Information
      • Volunteers are needed to respond to various requests for Race Day information, including lost and found requests, directions and event information. Volunteers should be able to handle questions and a flurry of activity simultaneously.
    • Set Up / Tear Down (Race for a Cure 5K)
      • Volunteers are needed prior to race day and before and after the race to help set up and tear down the site. Responsibilities include marking the route, setting up the water stations, helping with the Start/Finish set up, and loading and unloading supplies, food preparation and the like.
Time Commitment: two to three hours pre-race as well as two to three hours post race.

    • Basket Raffle Opportunities for many events
      • Prior to the event, and during the event, we hold a basket raffle which is, and has been, a major success. If you volunteer for this, you would be responsible for helping to develop the baskets by placing items in them by theme. You could also help by asking for donations from local businesses. Or, you can help on race day by managing the selling of tickets for these baskets. It is a fun and rewarding job.
